This cool Chicago weather has me reminiscing about my favorite season – fall! October 2015 was one of my busiest months ever, and the colors and warm light did not disappoint. One year ago I met Mary + Rich to chat about their upcoming wedding, and we hit it off right away (a good sign – you don’t want to be stuck with a photographer you can’t stand!). That April we headed to Lincoln Park for their engagement session, and on October 17, 2015 they got married at St. Paul of the Cross. Before the reception we drove to the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve for bridal party photos, and my GOSH the light we got was a dream! My sneaky trick when it’s chilly is to ask the gents to hand their jackets over to the ladies whose arms are getting covered in goosebumps. Makes for a super cute shot, don’t you think? The smiles are a lot more genuine when people are comfortable! Once Mary + Rich indulged me with plenty of shots with just the two of them, it was time for the celebration at Highland Park Community House. I am now slightly obsessed with this venue; its white walls made for extra bright and cheery images, and the stage gave the DJ (Mark of Crestline Entertainment) tons of space while allowing for a wide open dance floor. The detailed cake and cupcakes were created by Evie Ulivieri, a friend of the couple, and the flower arrangements were made by Blossom and Branch Designs. The limoncello? That was made by Mary’s dad!
